Mind Maps

Mind maps can be a useful tool for generating ideas, visualising all aspects of a topic and considering how these relate to each other. This is an example of a mind map created using the draw features in word. Begin in the centre with the topic and as questions, ideas and related topics come into your mind, put them down. Place related ideas close and show connections with lines or arrows. Images and colour can be helpful in stimulating your mind to generate ideas and in recalling information. Don't worry if your mind-map becomes cluttered, it is just a tool for getting your thoughts on paper and to assist in visualising all parts of the topic. From your initial mind-map you can create a outline of the topic and its related parts or an even neater mind-map!
