Welcome to this online resource on writing a case study in risk management. It may also be useful for other students writing a case study in engineering at UNSW. There are activities included and I encourage you to spend some time reflecting on the tasks before looking at my comments. Time to read and complete activities is estimated at 1-2 hours. If you would like to discuss your responses to some of the activities, a 'submit' button will allow you to email me (Pam Mort). I will reply within 48 hours.
This resource is a 'work in progress' and I hope to update it with additional activities and suggested changes from students and staff at UNSW. To this end I need your assistance and I welcome any feedback from students or staff.
This resource on case studies has been made possible by the ITET02 Fellowship from the Pro Vice Chancellor of Education, Professor Adrian Lee.
This resource was prepared by Pam Mort (The Learning Centre), Jean Cross (School of Safety Science) and Tracey Lee Downey (The Learning Centre), July 2002. Many thanks also to staff in the Educational Development and Technology Centre for assisting in the development of this resource.
