How does Uni compare with doing the HSC?

The final years of high school tend to be geared towards the HSC. Many students are told that the HSC is the most work they will ever have to do and, by comparison, studying at university will be easy.

So, is this true? Well, students differ in their opinion. Some think first year uni is easier than the HSC; others suggest it is much harder.

However, there are definite differences between uni and high school learning you need to explore

Students Comment

"Uni is like doing the HSC every 12 weeks"

(First Year Student UNSW)

"I was told that uni would be much easier than the HSC and that we'd sort of be able to take it easy, particularly in first year, and that it would get more intensive as our degree progressed. I actually did find that."

(First Year Student UNSW)

"At uni, one semester was like doing the HSC, but you were actually doing two HSCs per year."

(UNSW Student)
