Dominic began working at The Learning Centre in 1997 as a Writing Assistant while undertaking a PhD in German Studies. Since graduating in 2003 he has worked as a Learning Adviser with particular focus on co-ordinating the Writing Assistants program, running workshops on all aspects of academic work, doing individual consultations, and teaching on the preparation programs for alternative entry students, Indigenous students and International students. Dominic has also been involved with the Law Peer Tutors program since its beginnings, and has also lectured in the School of Modern Languages and Faculty of Law.

As Dominic studied in Germany, he is especially interested in strategies to adapt to the different academic traditions. Dominic finds that one of the most enjoyable parts of his work is participating in the generating of ideas, and then encouraging people to critically apply these ideas in their immediate context. Knowing that what we teach has a transformative impact on people and their role in society is what makes this work special.
