Gwyn has been a Learning Adviser at The Learning Centre since 1996. Her work has focused on teaching academic literacies at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In 1996 Gwyn began designing Academic Skills programs with staff in the School of Public health for international postgraduate students. For 10 years Gwyn developed and co-ordinated and the University Orientation and Study skills program, the core course for the University Preparation Program.
Collaborating with academic staff to embed academic literacies in undergraduate courses has seen Gwyn work in the areas of food science, social science, built environment, medicine, psychology, pharmacology and pathology. Her work currently is focused on the identity and the impact of transition for International post graduate students across mixed disciplines.
Gwyn's research interests include cross-cultural teaching and learning issues as well as skills required to access learning effectively. Her current focus is developing oral communication skills amongst post graduate research students.
She loves her family, animals, garden and singing!
